Panther City
In Design, students created Panther City. They designed, built and tested various structures that make up a city - including stores, fire station, hospital, school, restaurants, parks, and more. They took their first hand experience of living through 2 hurricanes to design structures that could withstand the wind and rain associated with them. We then had judges come in to visit from the City of Oviedo and Seminole County governments. Additionally, members of our School Board and SCPS Executive Cabinet visited to view the city and talk with students. Students demonstrated their understanding of the design process, Florida Building Codes, budgeting and more. News coverage of this project can be seen below:
